Variations on a Theme: New Cheesesteak Concoctions

The Morning Call (Allentown, Pennsylvania) reports on two new cheesesteak concoctions: the "Po' Boy Peanut Butter Chicken Cheesesteak" and the deep-fried cheesesteak.

10-year old Jordyn Boyer of Lebanon, Pennsylvania won Jif peanut butter's Jif Most Creative Peanut Butter Sandwich Contest with her "Po' Boy Peanut Butter Chicken Cheesesteak" sandwich. The creamy peanut butter-modified chicken cheesesteak also contains onions, apple slices, both red and yellow peppers, and mozzarella(!) cheese.

Meanwhile, David Barker is deep-frying cheesesteaks at Pizza Snobz in Wilson, Pennsylvania. The deep-fried cheesesteak appears to be exactly what it sounds like: Pizza Snobz wraps the entire cheesesteak in thin pizza dough, then puts it in the deep-fryer.

The Return of Rick's Steaks

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that former Reading Terminal Market institution Rick's Steaks, which left the market last fall, has found a new location: the Bellevue Gourmet Food Court. The Bellevue is located at the intersection of Broad Street and Walnut Street in Center City Philadelphia.

Rick's is set to open at its new location in "six to eight weeks"--it appears that when spring comes to Philadelphia, it will bring the return of Rick's Steaks with it.
